CyberSmart: April 2025 Edition

Order Confirmed:  Scam in Process.

It starts with a receipt. It ends in a scam.

Fraudsters are targeting customers with fake purchase alerts and refund requests.

Order Confirmed

Scammers create fake order confirmations through email, text, or calls to trick you into sharing account info.

Verify Directly

Never trust these messages at face value. Contact the company using the number on their website.

Refund Scheme

“Customer support” offers a refund or says they need to “fix a mistake.” They want access to your device or account.

Shut It Down

Never give up personal info or authorize remote access. If asked, cut contact immediately and reach out to the company directly.

Account Freeze

Scammers claim your account (Example: Amazon) is frozen to make you act fast.

Check Your Accounts

If an email demands urgent action, such as clicking a link, it's probably a scam. Go directly to the official website to confirm.

Pressure Tactics

“Act now to avoid charges!” messages aim to make you panic and react quickly.

Pause and Think

Scammers feed on fear and impulse. Don't give them the satisfaction!
